Restoration for XP and Vista is Coming!

Restoration for Windows Vista, XP, 2000, ME, and 98 is on the way! Want to be notified...? Send an email to sales@groundlevel.net with Restoration for Windows as the subject. We'll put you on the list!

An Important Note About Stuffit Expander:

Restoration is compressed using the latest version of StuffIt. Using an older version of StuffIt to de-compress it may not work. If you experience an error when trying to open Restoration which says, "The document Restoration could not be opened because the program which created it could not be found", then you have an older version of Stuffit Expander somewhere on your Hard Drive. First, download and install a fresh copy of Stuffit Expander from:

http://www.stuffit.com/expander/download.html

Then drag all previous copies which exist on your hard drive of Stuffit Expander to the Trash. Then, also drag any copies of Restoration you have to the Trash. Empty the Trash. Then Download a fresh copy of Restoration. This should correct the problem.

What's New in This Version:

•Demo Reset. Groundlevel Software is happy to announce that all Demo Users will now get a reset of their 15-Day Trial period. This will work in both OS X and Classic.

•Substantial cut in CPU usage. Significant improvements have been shown over the speed of backups for the previous version. Restoration should no longer hang when used for long periods. Restoration should not display the "Spinning Disc" when used in OS X for longer than a few seconds.

•Multiple selections can now be made in the Tasks List, allowing for deleting of several backup requests at once.

Important Notes / Known Issues:

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR JAGUAR USERS:

•All 10.2 Users are encouraged to upgrade to 10.2.4 through the Software Update panel in their System Preferences before using this version.

You MUST first trash all previous versions of Restoration and make sure to EMPTY THE TRASH before activating the current version of Restoration. There is a bug in Mac OS 10.2 which causes some applications left in the trash to activate in error. Failing to empty the trash may result in the inability to run the current version successfully.

Selecting text in the Search For: area and then dragging the text will cause Restoration to crash. We are working to correct this issue.

Deleting the first item in either the History Popup Menu, or the item already selected, does not work. To delete the first, or selected, item in either list, first select another item, then re-select the initial item while holding down the Command Key.

The Browse command in the Find User Window sometimes produces no results. This is due to the Browse command not being supported by some Servers. If this occurs, open the More Info disclosure triangle and select a different Network. Then try Browse again.

For some Users, a Spinning Disc may appear (OS X), or an apparent "hang" of a duration of about 5-10 sec.or more (Classic) may occur about every 20 sec. when Restoration has first started. This situation is harmless -- if annoying -- and if allowed to resolve itself, will return to normal operations. No attempts to force quit, especially under OS 9 or earlier should be tried. This problem also diminshes with time, so leaving Restoration open for about an hour or so should show the problem as no longer occurring thereafter. We are working to correct this issue as quickly as possible.

• When asked to Update, if your Web Browser is not open before clicking the Update Button, a false report may be made by the system that your Browser has Force Quit. Making sure that your Browser is open before clicking Update should eliminate this problem.

At times, a download may appear to be stalled. Selecting (highlighting) the file in the Tasks List may cause the file to start reporting correctly again.
